How Koehn Social Strategies Started
Koehn Social Strategies didn't start in an office or a boardroom. It started when I was 14 years old, standing next to a truck I had just polished.
I knew I did great work. But I didn't know how to get people to find me. I didn't know how to build a reputation. I didn't know how to get consistent customers. Growing up rural, I didn't have someone to show me how.
That feeling — “I'm doing everything right, so why is this not working?” — stuck with me.
Years later, I watched another small business startup go through the exact same thing. Good product. Good people. Full effort. But no system. No direction. No clear way to bring in customers.
They weren't failing because they weren't capable. They were failing because nobody ever taught them how to market.
Why KSS Exists
That's when something clicked for me:
Small business owners shouldn't lose just because nobody taught them the rules.
I knew if I could build simple, scalable marketing systems — the kind that real business owners could actually use — then they could:
- Make consistent sales
- Grow their reputation
- Build real momentum
- Eventually train someone in-house to run marketing for them
No big agency. No massive budget. No fancy jargon. Just clarity and a system that works.
Who We're Here For
I started KSS to help the kind of people I used to be — owners who work hard, do quality work, and just need a clear path to grow.
We primarily serve owner-led businesses up to about $3M in revenue: lawn care, trades, local service companies, and other real-world businesses that keep communities running.
What We Believe
- Simple beats complicated.
- Owners should understand their marketing, not be kept in the dark.
- If you have a good product or service, you deserve a real chance to succeed.
- The right marketing system shouldn't be a luxury — it should be accessible.
